Meet Your Impact Strategist
From the American Dream to a Bigger Mission

I didn’t set out to become a nonprofit founder.
I was building my version of the American Dream.
After growing up in a well-educated, middle-class family in Sierra Leone, I completed my undergraduate degree without financial worry. In 1995, I moved to the United States. By 1998, I had earned my MBA and was steadily building a professional career.
Then I returned home.
I saw children begging in the streets of Freetown. Families were struggling to keep their children in school. Young people forced to drop out not because of ability, but because of circumstance.
I couldn’t solve everything.
But I could help one life.
That conviction led me to found Develop Africa in 2006, officially registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Tennessee. What began as compassion became a two-decade journey of building, strengthening, and sustaining a real organization under real conditions.
There was no blueprint.
No inherited infrastructure.
No shortcuts.
What 20 Years Taught Me
Over the past two decades, I’ve lived nearly every phase of nonprofit leadership:
Early wins that created momentum
Funding droughts that tested resolve
Strong partnerships — and painful missteps
Systems that broke — and had to be rebuilt
Teams that thrived — and seasons that stretched leadership
I learned what most founders eventually discover:
Passion launches a mission.
Structure sustains it.
That lesson shaped my work and led to the development of Mission to Systems™ — a disciplined approach to building organizations that last.
What I Do Today
Today, I help nonprofit founders, companies, foundations, and diaspora leaders move from passion-driven effort to structured, sustainable impact — so their mission outlives their exhaustion.
I don’t offer theory.
I bring:
Lived operating experience across borders
Governance and systems discipline
Risk-aware planning
Fundraising maturity
Realistic execution frameworks
If your work involves Africa—particularly in education, youth development, workforce readiness, or CSR engagement—I help ensure your resources deliver measurable outcomes without unnecessary risk or fragile systems.
I Act as a Strategic Bridge
Between vision and execution.
Between donors and communities.
Between ideas and accountable outcomes.
Whether you’re:
